šŸŒŸ Nandini is Abducted! šŸŒŸ

NANDINI'S POV:

'Hame jaane dijiye na, Pitashree!'

'Please let me go, Father!'

I pleaded to him as I entered the royal chamber where he was busy discussing a war-strategy against Virat, with MahaAmatya.

However, I was least interested in the same. It was already midnight. I wanted to go out on a forest trip with my friends tomorrow evening, and he had strictly denied me the permission to do so, saying that it wasn't safe.

'Virat par aakraman ki tyari karo.'

'Make arrangements to execute the attack on Virat.'

He ordered the MahaAmatya, and approached me with a smile.

'Abhi Virat aur Magadh m bheeshan vidroh chidi hui hai. Kabhi bhi hamla ho sakta hai, aur ham nhi chahte ki hamari putri ko ek kharoch bhi aaye. Abhi khatra hai putri, anyatha ham tumhe nhi rokte.'

'There is a lot going on between Virat and Magadh lately. Attacks can take place in any situation, and I don't want my daughter to get hurt even the slightest. Its dangerous now, my daughter, otherwise I wouldn't have stopped you.'

He said, trying to make me understand his point.

'Toh aap chahte hain ki ham khatre k dar se jeena chodh dein?'

'So you want me to stop living life due to the fear of the impending danger?'

I asserted.

'Nhi putri ... kintu ...'

'No my daughter ... but ...'

'Kintu kya, Pitashree? Bacche thodi reh gye hain ab ham! Jaane dijiye na hame. Aur hamne shashtra vidya isi din ke liye seekhi thii kya, ki ham swayam ki raksha bhi naa kar paayein, aur aap hame kisi aane waale khatre k dar se, Mehel ki chaar diwaari k bheetar kaid karke rakh dein?'

'But what, father? I am not a little child anymore! Please let me go. And was I trained in martial arts for this very day, that I wouldn't be able to take care of myself, just so you could keep me within the four walls of the Palace, for the fear of some upcoming danger?'

I said, forming a puppy face, cutting him off in between.

He laughed seeing me being this adamant and dramatic, and continued,

'Pehli baat toh ye, ki bacche kitne bhi bade ho jaayein, parantu apne maata-pita k liye chote hi rehte hain. Aur acha thik hai, thik hai, chale jaao, kitnu apne shashtra apne saath rakhna, aur sainiko ki ek toli tumhare saath jaayegi, unki nazron se dur nhi jaana hai.'

'First things first, that no matter how old their children become, they will always remain little for their parents. And, okay, okay, fine, go, but keep your arms with you, and a group of soldiers would also be going with you, don't go out of their sight.'

He warned, and I nodded in agreement.

'Dhanyawaad, Pitashree!'

'Thankyou father!'

I said cheerfully, giving him a tight hug.

'Isme aabhar prakat karne ki koi aavashyakta nhi hai. Ab jaao, jaakar jaane ki tyaariyaan kar lo, aur Vann Bhojan ka bharpur aanand uthana.'

'There is no need to thank me for this. Now go make arrangements for leaving, and enjoy the forest trip to the fullest.'

He said with a smile, cupping my cheeks, and I nodded excitedly, running back to my chamber.

AUTHORS'S POV:

Attendees are making some arrangements talking to one another,

'Arey, jaldi chalo, suna nhi tumne? RajKumari ko kal Vann Bhojan ke liye nikalna hai.'

'Oh, come fast, didn't you hear? The Princess has to leave for a forest trip tomorrow.'

Unknown to them, someone was secretly listening to their conversation.

**********

'Toh RajKumari kal Vann Bhojan k liye aa rhi hai .... Par iss Vann par toh hamara raaj hai!'

'So the Princess is coming for a forest trip tomorrow .... But this forest belongs to me!'

An unknown voice in the dark says, with an evil smirk on face.

**********

'Ayushman bhavah, putra!'

'Live long, son!'

Guru Maata blessed Rajveer as he bent down to touch her feet, followed by Acharya's.

'Chirayu bhavah!'

'May you be blessed with a long life!'

Blessed the Acharya, as the soon-to-be King of Virat departed for the Temple visit, sitting on his chariot and gradually disappearing from their view.

He rode through the dense forests, until evening dawned, when suddenly something unusual caught his eyes.

**********

RAJVEER'S POV:

'Rath roko!'

'Stop the chariot!'

I order the charioteer, and he complies.

My attention was caught by a bullock cart, one wheel of which was stuck in mud, and it was blocking my way. From my view, I could see only dried grass loaded in the cart, which, for some reason, seemed rather fishy to me, so I got down my chariot and approached it.

I could see a girl lying unconscious beneath, when I removed a huge pile of dried grass. By clothes and jewellery, she seemed to be a Princess.

KIDNAPPED.

By her condition, I am sure of it. She has been kidnapped, and the abductor was trying to take her somewhere, without coming into anyone's notice.

I don't know how and why, but a sudden urge of protecting her rose within me.

I picked up the girl from the cart in bridal style, and laid her down on the forest floor, gently resting her head on the bark of a nearby tree, away from the view of the cart.

One wheel of the cart was stuck, and the kidnapper had probably gone to fetch himself some help with the same.

I went back to the cart, and kept the pile of grass the exact same way it was earlier. I hid myself behind the tree where I had already kept the girl.

A while later, three men approached the cart, and they together somehow managed to take the stuck wheel out of the mud.

I heard a man, probably the cart driver, thanking the other two men for their help, after which they left. I saw the cart driver leaving, until he was out of my sight.

I then fetched some water from the my chariot and returned back to the girl. I crouched on one knee, and sprinkled some water on her face, gently nudging her, trying to wake her up. She seems to be regaining consciousness.

'Hame soone do na!'

'Let me sleep!'

She said in a half-conscious state and an irritated tone of voice, shooing my hand away from her face as if it was a fly which was being a hindrance in her beauty sleep.

Girl doesn't even know that she had been kidnapped and I just saved her.

I tried to wake her up a few more times, all in vain. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I finally gave up. I myself laid beside her, supporting my head on the tree's bark and fell asleep after a while.

**********

NANDINI'S POV:

Sunlight falls on my face, waking me up. I look at the surroundings, trying to decipher the situation, until, my gaze falls on a tall, well-built person, a MAN, lying just beside me.

'AAAAHHHHHH!'

I get startled, and a scream escapes my lips before I could think.

I immediately cover my mouth with both my hands, fearing that the man might wake up due to my shreik. But to my surprise, he doesn't move even a bit.

'Kaise ghode bech k soota hai ye aadmi!'

'He sleeps so carefreely!'

I say with a mixture of shock and surprise in my voice.

He seemed like a Prince by looks and his strong, masculine physique, but an extremely lazy person by actions.

What if his enemy manages to sneak into his room late at night to attack him? The former would be able to kill him without much difficulty, since he sleeps so soundly.

A LITTLE TOO MUCH SOUNDLY.

I think to myself. But then, maybe I am overthinking.

Oh no! In the midst of all this, I completely forgot .... Where the hell am I? Yes, I did come on a forest trip, but how in the world did I land up here, in this way?

Wait, did I get kidnapped? Was I kidnapped by this man?

I thought to myself, as I tried to remember the events of the past night.

Yes, I was fighting some goons. They were able to kill all of our soldiers who had accompanied me for my protection. And, as my friends were unarmed, and only I had weapons, I told them to leave the spot immediately, assuring them that I would come back safely, and them staying there would cause even more problems for me, as the goons would try to attack them as well.

So then, I was left all alone, fighting a bunch of goons all by myself. A while later, after a fierce fight that drained me of all my energy, they were successful in capturing me. They forcibly covered my mouth with a white cloth, despite all of my resistance. And before anything else could happen, everything blackened before my eyes.

That's all I remember.

Oh wait! Could he be ...... the PRINCE OF VIRAT?

Surely, he does look like a Prince, and the Kingdom of Virat is our arch-enemy. They must be planning to attack and take over Magadh soon, and attacking and kidnapping the Princess of the Kingdom may be the their first cunning step towards the same!

And from what I had unintentionally overheard when I went to seek permission, even father and MahaAmatya were planning a counter-attack war strategy against Virat.

I MUST LEAVE THIS PLACE AT ONCE, BEFORE HE WAKES UP.

Father had warned me of the lurking danger, but I chose to stay adamant, saying I was capable enough to take care of myself and he finally had to give me the permission for this trip. Still, I was attacked and these people were able to able to abduct me successfully, which shows my inability to protect our soldiers, my friends, and myself.

I should have listened to Father.

I managed to escape from there without waking up the Prince, which apparently wasn't a tough task.

My palanquin was broken, and the attendees holding it were dead during the attack. But, luckily, I found the horse of one of our dead soldiers and rode back to the Palace.

**********

I went straight to my bedroom, and stood at it's entrance, seeing my parents inside. I found my Mother crying about my absence and my Father consoling her that I would return safe and sound.

'Jaakar dekhiye na aap, kahan chali gyi hamari putri!'

'Please go and see where my daughter went!'

Mother pleaded to Father, wailing.

'Toh kya hua yadi saare sainik maare gye, haan? Hamari putri swayam ki raksha karne m saksham hai! Woh aa jaayegi Ranisa, aap chinta na karein.'

'So what if all the soldiers were killed? Our daughter is capable enough to protect herself. She will be back soon, Queen, do not worry.'

Father said, with pride in his tone but worry in his eyes. My friends must have informed them about the attack.

He does not know how to give consolation. He reminded Mother that all the soldiers were dead, and instead of stopping, she just broke into even louder cries.

But, I was overwhelmed seeing both of them and remembering the
events of the previous day. Tears pooled up in my eyes, and there was a mixture of various emotions within me.

Guilty, of not paying heed to my father's words. Ashamed, of not being able to save the lives of our soldiers. Delight, of meeting my parents. Fear, that if something would have happened to me, I wouldn't have been able to see them again. And lastly, anger, on whoever had planned the kidnapping.

Suddenly, they noticed me, and I ran to them, embracing both of of them in a tight hug at once.

'Kahan chali gyi thii, haan?'

'Where the hell did you go?'

Mother asked, sobbing even harder than earlier, while I was still in her embrace.

'Meri bacchi, bola thaa na nhi jaane ko? Yadi tumhe kuch ho jaata toh?'

'My daughter, didn't I tell you not to go? What if something would have happened to you?'

Father said in an emotional tone with tears in his eyes, breaking the hug and cupping my cheeks.

'Maa, Pitashree, ham theek hain, kuch nhi hua hai hame. Dekhiye, bikul sahi salamat aapke saamne khade hain.'

'Mother, Father, I am okay, nothing has happened to me. Look, I am standing right before your eyes, totally fit and fine.'

I said, brushing off their tears and narrating to them the events of the day earlier.

Mother looked at me, and then at Father, with fresh tears flowing down her beautiful face. Father's expression turned grave, with anger in his eyes, as I continued the narration.

'Jisne bhi hamari putri k saath aisa karne ka dussaahas kiya hai, usse apne karmon ka dand aawashya milega!'

'Whoever had the audacity to do such a deed with my daughter, will pay for it!'

Father grunted, and stormed out of the room furiously.

Although, his expression seemed like he had already dicerned who might be the mastermind behind my kidnapping.

Mother eventually calmed down after a few moments with some more words of consolation and reassurance from me and left the room. She probably went to talk to Father about the incident.

I sat on the bed with a thump and palmed my head. It is too much for me to take in one day. My head is aching. I need a head-massage followed by a bath immediately.

I order the attendees and they do as told.

**********

RAJVEER'S POV:

I wake up from my slumber, only to find the girl I rescued yesterday, gone. Luckily, the charioteer was awake. He may be knowing her whereabouts if he would have seen her leaving. I approach and ask him about the same and he nods in response.

'Uss kanya ko kahin jaate hue dekha thaa kya tumne?'

'Did you see that girl leaving?'

'Ji Sarkar, woh toh subah uthte hii nikal gayeein. Aapko dekhkar aise bhaagin, maano aap unke sabse bade shatru hon.'

'Yes, my lord, she left immediately after waking up. She escaped so fast seeing you, as if you were her greatest enemy.'

He says, and I frown.

Enemy? Is he serious? I rescued her from those kidnappers, and she considers me her enemy? Goodness isn't valued in this cruel world! However, I don't have time to think much about all this.

'Rath tyaar karo, hame Kuldevi k Mandir k darshan evam Acharya k iccha anusaar uss Mandir nirmaan sthall k liye sheegra atisheegra nikalna hai. Waise bhi adhyadhik samay nasht ho chuka hai.'

'Prepare the chariot, I need to visit the Clan Goddess Temple followed by the place where the temple is to be built as soon as possible, according to the Sage's wishes. Much time has been wasted already.'

I order the charioteer, with a rather expressionless face, he follows, and we depart.

After visiting both the places, and praying and inspecting, respectively, I return back to my Kingdom, a day before my Coronation.
